Shopian Encounter Today: 3 Terrorists Killed in J&K Operation
Encounter in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, as security forces conduct a joint operation in Keller forests.
Three terrorists were killed during an encounter that broke out in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday after security forces launched an operation in the forests of Keller, the Indian Army said.

There is a possibility of the presence of two to three terrorists in the forest, People aware of the development said.
The armed forces have been engaging in combing operations in the forests of South Kashmir and Kistwar since the April 22 terror attacks in Pahalgam in which 26 people had died with several others injured.
Today’s (Encounter in Shopian) operation was launched early in the morning, however it’s not clear whether the suspected terrorists who are holed up in the forests of Shopian are involved in the Pahalgam killings.
Meanwhile, posters were seen in different parts of Pulwama district, announcing ₹20 lakh reward on information of terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack.
Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir Police released sketches and identities of three terrorists said to be involved in the terror attack in Pahalgam. All three terrorists are affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba, and a bounty of ₹20 lakh for each of the three terrorists was announced by the Police.
